It can be any business you want to make, as an affiliate marketer everything is up to you, you don’t have to have your own product, website, or in fact any marketing experience, that is the reason why so many people want to make money in marketing.

One thing that can make you successful is having a never give up attitude. That is when I first picked up the idea to become an affiliate marketer I was given the 6 week training plan to teach me everything there is to know about affiliate marketing. 6 weeks of learning everything there is to know about this business. How much you want to put in, and when you want to put it in. That is the point of it all. How you want to make your living from affiliate marketing depends on you.

Now I have been doing this for just a few months, and I already surpassed all the learning needs of the six week plan. Now there is more to it than just that. Through experience I have found that when I want to make some money I don’t have to worry about product storage or shipping. That is all handled by the merchant. My job is just to drive traffic, in other words to show people how to find the product they want. When they find it they buy it, that all you have to do is collect your checks.

Merchants love it this way, because they only have to pay the affiliate when they make a sale. For the merchant it is the easiest system to get a large amount of sales. Just to have a large product is great, but it gets even better. They get free advertising. The more affiliates promoting their products the more money they make. It’s a win-win situation.

I have even found that it is best having your own website. Now you don’t have to be a professional designer or an experienced web designer to have a website. When you have your own website the advertising of the merchants products is no longer a requirement. To the merchant it makes their product promotional to a much greater extent. The affiliates really have become the principle partners of the merchant and it really makes a lot of sense to streamline the process into having them promote on your behalf.

As the merchant you will have more than the opportunity to promote your product or service to an ever increasing audience. If you look at it you can see that the potential for users to click on a link to the merchant is decreasing. With many hundreds of millions of web pages available on the internet the users are more than likely to have their information at hand.

It is really a simple thing to do as a merchant, after all the thought and research has gone into creating a product to be offered you can see the limits on what an affiliate can achieve. It is perhaps a little disappointing, yes it is a disappointment for the merchant, but it is also an opportunity missed to take advantage of the system that could have been so successful and so inexpensive.
